Croton FD volunteers handled two minor car accidents during the course of Halloween Day.

At 6:47 AM, Croton Fire, EMS and Police units were called to northbound Route 9 for a multi-vehicle accident, north of Municipal Place. On scene, units found three vehicles involved in a rear-end collision, with one operator complaining of pain in her leg. FD units provided lane closure and lighting until the vehicles were removed from the roadway. Car 2081, Car 2082, Engine 119 and Rescue 18 were on this assignment, with Engine 118 being put back into service while responding.

At about 13:40 - Croton Police was on the scene of a single-car accident on Glengary Road off of Mount Airy Road, with no occupant. The car skidded off the pavement and was straddling a wall and large rock. The driver was located at a nearby temple and returned to the scene, requesting medical attention. At this point (about 13:55) CEMS and CFD were dispatched.

FD units remained on scene while the tow company removed the vehicle. EMS obtained an "RMA" and all units returned to service at 14:30.

Happy Halloween!
