Condolences to the Croton-on-Hudson F.D. on the loss of your Chaplain, a gentle and dear person, Chaplain John Coyne; Chaplain of the WCVFA, and the PNWFPA, member of the NYS Assoc. of Fire Chaplains. His loss is greatly felt.
I grew up on Maple Street in Croton in the early 70's. I spent a lot of time at the old Harmon Station. There used to be a restaurant called the Post Inn around the corner. I always bugged out of dinner and hung out at the firehouse…I’m certain I was a pain in the ass. Also lots of time at the old Grand Street Station behind the Little League field. Croton FD Drum and Bugles had meetings there...
I credit the Croton Fire Department with introducing me to the fire service and for stoking a passion that has lasted over 40 years. I always make a point to drive by the firehouses when I’m in town. Lots of familiar names and former classmates in the rank and file. God Bless you guys and thanks for always making me feel welcome.
Scott Thompson, Chief of Department, The Colony, Texas.

My family has been involved with CFD since the 1800's, I recently visited Grand St Chemical Engine and was shown a Life Member Certificate that hangs on the wall, His name is Clarence Powell and he served as Mayor when Harmon Engine was erected, his name is on a placque when you enter. My brother Michael was one of the first Explorer Posts and went on to Eng 119-My cousin Harold "Chipper" Lockwood serves as historian- We have alot of history and memories. Thank you for your continued dedication Croton Fire Departments, Peace and Blessings to all who serve and served.

This Is A Great Site! With Different Pictures Of Trucks & The Men & Women Of The Department & The Different Calls That They Go On.
Great site guys and nice to see some familiar names. Had always wanted to join but family moving out of town put an end to that. The Croton FD put the buzz in me by watching them as a kid and I finally pulled the trigger and joined my local dept. when I settled down. I always check your site to see what you have been up to. Thank you for all you do for a great town.

Great website, I have the fortunate pleasure of work with some, if not all of your members at somepoint of my career at CEMS. What ever the case, wether I need an extra set of hands, or a driver on a call, to the skills your members possess when we need someone extricated out of a car, I can count on the dedicated Volunteers of CFD, to assist me in performing my job to the best of my ability. The website looks great, keep up the good work.. from one volunteer to another
