2nd Alarm Fire in Sleepy Hollow
By Matt Spillane / LoHud.com
March 22, 2018
Police are investigating what they said was a suspicious fire that destroyed a vacant house in Sleepy Hollow early Thursday.
A neighbor called 911 at 3:07 a.m. to report a fire in a two-story house at 14 Clinton St., Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Anthony Bueti said.
The flames raged for about two hours and destroyed the home, which had been unoccupied, Bueti said. It's not yet clear what caused the fire, he said, but it is considered suspicious because no one was living there and there was no electricity in the house.
Multiple fire departments responded. One firefighter was treated at the scene for a minor injury, Bueti said.
Sleepy Hollow fire officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
